How to mint MundaneBunz?
Hey yall!! Many have asked us “How do I mint Bunniez from the website?”. Well, look no further! We’re gonna walk you through the steps to get your first NFT in your collection!
But first, what is an NFT?
You may skip this part if you already know about NFTs. Go to the section on “Setting up your wallet”
A Non-Fungible Token (NFT) can be thought of as a unique piece of item that you own, whose ownership can be traced, and cannot be duplicated (due to the proof of ownership).
On the other hand, fungible tokens mean tokens that are mutually interchangeable: A dollar bill can be exchanged for a different dollar bill, but they would have the exact same value, and they come from the same collection (the collection of dollar bills).
For Non-Fungible tokens, they can come from the same collection, but each unique item within that collection may have different values attached to them. Think of a collection of Pokemon trading cards, where there is only 1 card of each Pokemon. Some cards are gonna be more valuable than others, but they belong to the same collection. You could trade a Charizard for a Pikachu, but who’s to say that the trade value was equal?
For NFTs, the idea is similar: You could be a collector, trying to collect items from collections all over the world or you could try to trade and upsell your collection to make profits. You can do anything you want to the NFTs that you own. Ready to own an NFT? Read on.
Setting up your wallet
Things that you’re gonna need:
- The Metamask extension (to store your Ethereum)
- Some Ethereum in a crypto exchange
The first step is easy! Head to the Metamask Chrome Extension Page and install Metamask into your browser!
The steps to set up your wallet are as follows:
- Select “Create a Wallet.”
- Create a username and password.
- You will be shown a Secret Recovery Phrase. Keep it safe!! (It's better to write it down somewhere, instead of storing it digitally on your computer) This Secret Recovery Phrase is like a password to access your wallet, and anyone with access to this phrase has access to your entire wallet! Stay safe out there fellow Bunniez!
- Confirm your Secret Recovery Phrase.
- Now, MetaMask is set up and should appear in your browser extensions.
Adding Ethereum to your Metamask
There are 2 ways to add Ethereum to your Metamask
- Send it directly from an exchange
- Buy directly from Metamask
Sending Ethereum from an exchange
You will need to have some Ethereum in an online exchange, such as Binance.com, Coinbase, or KuCoin. We will be using Binance for this example, but the steps also apply to other crypto exchanges. (If you don’t have Ethereum in an exchange, then perhaps it's better to learn about setting up a wallet in an online exchange first 😅)
First, go to your Fiat and Spot wallet and click “Withdraw”
Next, you will be brought to a page to enter the address of your Metamask wallet that you want to deposit Ethereum to:
If you are unsure what is your wallet’s address, click your Metamask extension and copy the address! (Just click the area in the red circle below and your Metamask address will be copied! Just paste it into your Binance withdrawal page!)
Enter the amount you wish to withdraw and voila! You’re done! Just wait for the transaction to be approved and the funds should appear in your Metamask wallet!
Buying Ethereum in Metamask
Alternatively, you may choose to buy Ethereum directly from the Metamask Extension, which is a slightly faster and more straightforward method.
From your Metamask extension, click on “Buy”
Follow the instructions for your choice of depositing Ethereum and you should see the funds in your wallet!
Minting Bunniez
Once the funds are in your wallet, you are ready to Mint some Bunniez!
Head to our website mundanebunz.io. When you click the “Mint Bunniez” button, you will be prompted to connect your wallet to the site!
Once you are connected to the site, choose the number of Bunniez you wish to mint and click “Mint Bunniez”! (The drop is scheduled for 2nd October, 9 pm UTC so if you try to mint before that, you will get an error)
Confirm the transaction in your Metamask wallet and wait for it to be minted! Once it's been minted, you can check out your freshly minted Bunniez at Opensea!
